If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), or in another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you can require that your personal information not be sold or shared for cross-context behavioural advertising. This page sets out how to exercise that right with Mildwalk.

Once You Have Opted Out

Opting out stops the sharing of advertising identifiers; it does not remove advertising from the site. You may still see ads, but they will be generic rather than selected from your browsing history. Nothing else about the site changes, and we do not degrade access or withhold content because you opted out.

Background

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have. What can happen is narrower: where advertising is served on this site, advertising cookies and device identifiers may be made available to advertising partners. The statutory definitions of ‘sale’ and ‘sharing’ are wide enough to capture that arrangement, so we treat it as opt-out-able rather than argue about the label.

This applies to everyone reading our coverage of Mildwalk on mildwalk.com, whether or not you have ever subscribed or commented.

Easiest first: switch on Global Privacy Control in your browser settings or via an extension — it is detected and honoured on every page load, automatically. Failing that, use the cookie banner where shown, or email hello@mildwalk.com, subject line ‘Do Not Sell or Share’. We never require an account to process an opt-out.
